Country Superstar and amazing fiddler
It was one of the highlights of my life to interview Country and Western superstar, Jana Jae. Over the course of a few days I spoke with Jana about her life and times. Jana is not only a world class entertainer and musician, she’s a kind of spokesperson for all things music. She’s an accomplished classical player as well as bluegrass, western swing, jazz, Irish and just about every other genre one can think of. Both of Jana’s parents were classically trained violinist, however it was her grandfather that influenced the musical direction she went towards.
Jana was playing and winning fiddling contests in the early seventies. During the mid-seventies she was heard by Buck Owens and eventually was hired. She was the first female to be in the Buck Owen’s band, The Buckaroos. Jana appeared on the hit T.V. show, Hee-Haw. She has performed all over the globe and continues to perform today.
Jana is an inspiration to me and musicians all over.
Also in this issue the amazing Irish fiddler and teacher, Tom Morley will play and teach Boolovouge Waltz
Mitch Reed is going to teach some Cajun style fiddling. You don’t want to miss this!
